Why Look Outside Brampton
Brampton is home to roughly 163,000 Sikh residents — about 25 percent of the city, and the largest concentration in the country, according to the 2021 census. South Asian residents make up 52.4 percent of Brampton overall. What that means in practice is that a Brampton Sikh wedding guest list of 500 or 700 is unremarkable, and the number of halls that can seat that many properly is smaller than the demand.
Palacio Event Centre is about 25 km south of Brampton — roughly 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic — straight down Mavis Road, at 3410 Semenyk Court in Mississauga. The Ibiza Grand Ballroom seats up to 900 under 23-foot ceilings. It divides into Ibiza A at 450 and Ibiza B at 300, and Arriba upstairs seats 140 for the smaller functions.
For a family that has already booked the Anand Karaj at a Brampton gurdwara, the drive matters less than the room does. A straight run down Mavis is a simpler transfer than many guests make crossing Brampton in Saturday traffic.
For Brampton Families
The reasons Brampton families book a Mississauga reception rather than compromising on room size at home.
Not 900 standing or 900 theatre-style. Up to 900 seated in the full Ibiza Grand Ballroom, which is the number that matters when the guest list is drawn from a large extended family.
The route from most of south and central Brampton is a single road south. No highway transfer required, which simplifies directions for older relatives and for guests unfamiliar with the area.
Families holding the Anand Karaj at Gurdwara Sikh Sangat on Regan Road, Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Centre on Glidden Road, Guru Nanak Mission Centre, or Gurudwara Jot Parkash Sahib on Sun Pac Boulevard can hold the reception here the same evening.
In-house South Asian and Pakistani Halal menus, plus a Gujarati pure-vegetarian option. Families with an established caterer can use our outside catering arrangement instead.
Parking on site with valet service, which is a practical difference from halls where several hundred guests are competing for street parking in a plaza.
Jago, maiyaan and sangeet do not need a 900-seat hall. Arriba at 140 and Ibiza B at 300 mean the smaller functions can also happen here rather than being scattered.

The Transfer
The transfer from a Brampton gurdwara to a Mississauga reception is the part families ask about most, and it is simpler than it sounds. The Anand Karaj and langar finish in Brampton around midday. Guests have the afternoon. The reception opens in the late afternoon at Palacio, about 25 km away on a single road.
In practice most guests treat it as they would a cross-city drive within Brampton itself. What changes is the room they arrive into: a ballroom that seats the entire guest list at once, with the ceiling height and the dance floor that a reception of that size needs.

Questions
About 25 km from central Brampton — roughly 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic — south on Mavis Road to Burnhamthorpe, with no highway transfer needed. The venue is at 3410 Semenyk Court in Mississauga and sits about two kilometres from Highway 403 for guests coming from further out. Drive times vary with traffic, so confirm before circulating directions.
Yes, and it is the usual pattern. Families hold the Anand Karaj and langar at their gurdwara in Brampton — Gurdwara Sikh Sangat on Regan Road, Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Centre on Glidden Road, Guru Nanak Mission Centre, or Gurudwara Jot Parkash Sahib on Sun Pac Boulevard — and hold the evening reception here.
Many families do. The reason to look south is capacity: Brampton's Sikh community is the largest in Canada and guest lists of 500 to 900 are common, while rooms that genuinely seat that many are limited. If your list fits comfortably in a Brampton hall, book there. If it does not, 25 km is a short drive for a room that fits.
Yes. Arriba on the second floor seats up to 140 and Ibiza B seats 300, which covers jago, maiyaan, sangeet and family dinners. Holding them at the same venue as the reception means one address and one coordinator for the whole wedding.
There is on-site parking with valet service. For a reception of that size the arrival window is concentrated, so valet materially changes how quickly guests get from their car into the room.
In-house South Asian catering covers Punjabi dishes, with Pakistani Halal and Gujarati pure-vegetarian menus also available for mixed guest lists. If your family already uses a specific caterer, Palacio offers an outside catering arrangement. Call 905-949-0555 to discuss specifics.
