The Reception
Most Sikh families in the GTA plan a wedding in two halves. The Anand Karaj takes place in the darbar sahib at the gurdwara, in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, usually in the morning and usually followed by langar. What the gurdwara cannot host is the reception — several hundred guests, a full bar, a dance floor that survives a bhangra circle, and a dinner service that runs late.
That is the half Palacio Event Centre is built for. We are a 30,000 square foot event centre at 3410 Semenyk Court in Mississauga, off Mavis Road, with four spaces that seat between 140 and 900 guests. The Ibiza Grand Ballroom carries 23-foot ceilings and divides into two independent halls, so a 300-guest reception does not sit inside a room built for 900 and feel half empty.
Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara at 7280 Airport Road in Malton is about 25 km away, which is roughly 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic — a manageable transfer between a morning Anand Karaj and an evening reception rather than an afternoon lost to driving.
Why Sikh Families Book Here
Guest counts run large, the catering is specific, and the dance floor is not an afterthought. Here is how the venue handles each.
Four spaces rather than one. Arriba seats 140 for a smaller reception or a family dinner the night before. Ibiza B seats 300, Ibiza A seats 450, and the full Ibiza Grand Ballroom seats 900 for the guest lists that genuinely need it.
Our South Asian menu covers the dishes a Sikh reception is judged on. Gujarati pure-vegetarian and Pakistani Halal menus are also available in-house for mixed guest lists and for families keeping a vegetarian table.
Many families already have a caterer they use for every function. Palacio offers an outside catering arrangement, so booking the room does not mean giving up the food you had planned on.
Integrated sound, stage areas and lighting are set up for DJs and live dhol. The ballroom's ceiling height means sound and lighting have somewhere to go instead of pressing down on the room.
A Sikh wedding is rarely one evening. Sangeet, jago and maiyaan often sit across several days, and having smaller and larger rooms in one building keeps every function at one address.
On-site parking with valet service, which matters when several hundred guests arrive inside the same thirty-minute window after a morning at the gurdwara.
Planning
Sikh guest lists tend to grow. These are the seated capacities, so you can plan against a real number rather than a brochure figure.

The Day
The pattern is familiar. The Anand Karaj finishes late morning, langar is served at the gurdwara, and there is a gap before the reception while the couple is photographed. Guests arrive at Palacio in the late afternoon into a foyer that is designed to hold a crowd during cocktails rather than push them straight into the hall.
Dinner follows, then the floor opens and generally does not close early. Our team assigns a dedicated coordinator to the event, so the questions that come up on the day — when the cake goes out, where the dhol player sets up, which entrance the couple uses — go to one person who already knows the plan.

Questions
The Anand Karaj is performed in the presence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and is normally held in the darbar sahib at a gurdwara. Palacio is a reception venue — families typically hold the ceremony and langar at their gurdwara in the morning and the reception here in the evening. Sri Guru Singh Sabha on Airport Road in Malton is about 25 km from the venue, roughly 25 to 30 minutes depending on traffic.
Up to 900 seated in the full Ibiza Grand Ballroom. The ballroom divides into Ibiza A at 450 and Ibiza B at 300, and Arriba on the second floor seats up to 140. Because the ballroom divides, a 300-guest reception is held in a room sized for 300 rather than in a half-empty hall.
Both are available. Our in-house South Asian menu covers Punjabi dishes, and we also offer Gujarati pure-vegetarian and Pakistani Halal menus for mixed guest lists. If your family already works with a specific caterer, Palacio offers an outside catering arrangement.
Yes. Sikh weddings frequently run across several days with sangeet, jago and maiyaan alongside the wedding itself. Having rooms from 140 up to 900 in one building lets you hold the smaller functions and the main reception at the same address. Availability across consecutive dates is worth checking early, particularly in summer.
Yes, there is on-site parking with valet service. This matters more than it sounds for a Sikh reception, because guests tend to arrive in a concentrated window after the gurdwara programme rather than trickling in across an hour.
Palacio Event Centre is at 3410 Semenyk Court, Mississauga, ON L5C 4P8, near Mavis Road and Burnhamthorpe Road, about two kilometres from Highway 403 with connections to the 401 and 407. You can reach the events team at 905-949-0555.
